the producers who work with Aquarius have a passion, an innate drive,

help others help themselves". For many of our producers, their
stories come from personal experiences that have strongly influenced their
lives. For others, their commitment and desire as a filmmaker and storyteller

Our customers want to hear personal accounts of the challenges that
individuals, families and professionals face interwoven with a powerful
educational message that is unforgettable. Producing documentaries
such as this is an art and takes a producer who is in touch with
the issues he/she is filming and is capable of weaving together
into a very poignant story. Our customers look for documentaries
that include international experts and professionals as well as
productions where the individuals become the experts. If you are
currently in the midst of a production and have questions regarding
the direction of your program, please feel free to call us.
Technical Concerns and Length
The technical quality of the videos we represent
must be excellent. Our customers expect only the best and that is
what we provide to them. Our customers want programming that is
15 - 30 minutes in length for use in the educational and health
care markets. However, many of our programs are produced with broadcast
in mind so we do work with programming that is up to 60 minutes.
If you are in the middle of production, please give some thought
into also producing a shorter version.
More and more of our customers are interested in being able to
offer programming in a digital format. Thus, when possible we look
for a digital master from our producers. We also request that a
number of jpeg images are provided so that we can represent your
video program on our new web site.

Aquarius is committed to an aggressive yet very personal approach
to reaching our customers and potential markets in the health and
educational fields. The Aquarius staff is actively involved in selling
and promoting each video program. We feel it is important for our
staff to know and understand the issues of each video program that
we distribute. Aquarius offers the marketing strength and power
of a large distributor and yet is able to provide the personal and
professional wisdom and expertise that few distributors can offer.
Packaging
Aquarius develops a video jacket cover for each
program that includes both images from the producer and quotes from
experts and professionals in the field of expertise along with awards
and other recognition that the video has won.
Direct Mail
Direct Marketing represents 75 - 80% of our business.
Aquarius develops and produces attractive catalogs, brochures and
flyers that are mailed out consistently throughout the year. Just
fill out the request form below and we will send on a media kit
for your attention. Because we do a lot of "niche marketing"
many of our brochures and flyers are targeted to very specific customer
markets. This allows for a higher response rate to our mailings
with potential customers that already have an interest in the topics.
Reviews
Because the quality of our programming is unique
we find that the publications are very accepting and excited to
review our video programs. We have on-going requests from editors
looking for new videos on specific topics. Reviews are added to
our website immediately. Reviews are also added to jacket covers,
our catalog and other direct marketing materials.
Conferences
Aquarius attends targeted national conferences
throughout the year where videos may be shown or used by speakers
in their presentations. In addition, we have a large database of
on-going and new conferences in targeted areas in the health care
field. We work closely with conference coordinators to promote Aquarius
videos at these conferences and to make targeted marketing materials
available on specific video programs.
Direct Sales/Marketing
All new program releases are included in our direct sales
efforts. Our Aquarius staff is in daily contact with our customers
to identify current video needs and market trends. In addition,
our comprehensive database allows us to identify customer interests
and budget availability. Telemarketing is directed to our customer
database that has an interest in specific video topics. Free previews
are sent to qualified customers to review new programs before making
a purchase.
Film Festivals
Aquarius has won numerous awards at many, many international
film festivals including Emmys, an Academy Award and nomination
for an Academy Award, the Columbus International Film Festival,
Superfest and this past year ~ 5 FREDDIES at the Time Inc. International
Film Festival.
Aquarius enters new video programs in leading film festivals as
well as some very specialized. Some of the festivals include CINE,
the International Medical Film Festival, the Telly's, Columbus International
Film Festival, HESCA, Intercom, Superfest for Disability Issues,
the National Council on Media Relations and the Mature Media Festival.
The Aquarius Agreement... top
Aquarius primarily works on an exclusive basis with our producers
for a 3-5 year term in the non-theatrical, broadcast and home markets.
There are certain cases where we will work on a non-exclusive basis.
Please call us to tell us about your particular situation.
Most importantly, we start with helping the producer to identify
his/her marketing/sales needs and then go from there. We try to
be flexible to meet both the producers and our needs. Aquarius
takes responsibility for all marketing and promotional costs. Competitive
royalties are paid on gross receipts and also include customer feedback
and sales information. We find our producers are extremely pleased
with the royalty information and detailed feedback they receive.
Aquarius provides information on media reviews, film festivals,
conferences, customer feedback and any additional testimonials.
Aquarius is also more than willing to provide sales information
to a producer at any time during the royalty period.
